On average people who work 40 hour jobs tend to spend 2,080 hours at work a year. Mostly all jobs are high stress, little motivation, and slim to none physical activities. Given that people will spend over one-third of their day at work and over half of their waking hours on the job, it can take its toll on your healthy life and well-being. Work place stress is one of the biggest problems for all employees. There are tricks for people to do activities at work to relieve their stress and get a boost of energy. They also say to arrive at work already being nutritionally prepared. But why go to a job that you probably don’t like working at and that stresses your boy and mind out, when you can get a job in one of the top ten healthiest jobs. That way you will be working in an environment that is healthy and that doesn’t stress you out. According to Monster.com the top ten healthiest jobs that don’t include professional athletic sports, but do include athletic related careers are: 1-Activity Specialist, 2-Chiropractor, 3-Choreographer, 4-Florist, 5-Massage Therapist, 6- Nutritionist, 7-Personal Trainer, 8-Professor, 9-Running coach, and 10-Yoga Instructor. So if you hate your job and feel that it is so stressful and unhealthy, you should probably try one of these jobs.

hmm...I am a dance choreographer and find it great that it is rated as the 3rd healthiest career! I never knew this and it sort of surprises me. I love my job but do find it stressful at times, especially during a competition weekend or when trying to reach a deadline. Maybe it all depends on if you have your own business or not? Good info. thanks!
So I make the cut at #8. You'll have to let me know specifically what monster said was so ideal about my job. Certainly some benefits to being in a college atmosphere everyday!
It was so different to see a college professor on the list in the middle of chiropractor and running coach. I would never think a professor would do more exercise than a runner. I see many professors sprint to classes then stand up the whole time. I guess does help alot!
I was pleased to see that running coach was on the list because I definitely want to coach cross-country someday! I have been running cross-country since middle school and it always relieves so much stress and makes me happy! As a movement science major with a physical education concentration, I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of running around and physical activity at work! I can not even imagine having an office job where I would be sitting all day. I would fall asleep!
I made the cute at #7. Out of hundreds of jobs, I'll take it. It funny to see the correlation between healthy jobs and fitness. I bet if you asked people in these 10 professions how much they like/ appreciate their jobs, they would all answer with positive responses. I'm sure people in these professions handle stress much better as well. Having a healthy job can definately have a positive effect in all aspects in life.
That is a very interesting blog. Some of them are common sense, although I never really thought of job in being “healthy.” Jobs where you are doing physical activity or professions that have studied the benefits of eating healthy and exercise are most likely a “healthier job.” I’m not sure why a college professor would be thrown I there. Unless its because sometimes college professors tend to work less hours in a week than many professions. Very interesting blog, I enjoyed reading it.
