Music Therapy

Listening to music such as heavy metal, rock, country, or what ever genre you listen to helps relieve stress. Since everyone has different types of music, make sure that you listen to your favorite type of genre or comfortable music. Music has always been a great healer of stress. Experts say that the rhythm of the music and the beats has a calming effect on us. The rhythm and beats of the music is like when babies are in their mother’s womb they were influenced by the mother’s heart beat. Music is one of the most soothing or nerve wracking experiences available for the majority of all people. The most profound finding was any music live and even moderately loud volumes had a beneficial response. Music was found to reduce the pain during dental procedures. Put relaxing music on and lie in a comfortable position on a couch or floor near the speakers, or wear headphones to focus all your attention on the music. Choose music with a slower rhythm to slow down your heart rate, try to get it under 72 beats per minute and listen to music with repeating or cyclical patterns. While listening to the music focus on your breathing, concentrate on the silence between the notes. If you need a stimulation go with faster music.
